Here they are! The Top 12 Posts from 2012! Just for fun, I also added in the top “Pinned” Recipe. I never would have imagined this to be your favorite, but who am I kidding…..they are awesome and you will be your kids BFF after making them!
#12– Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Nuggets– These are such a quick and easy snack. Perfect for impromptu company or if your house has been invaded with teenagers! I have already gone through 4 batches this Holiday season!
#11– How to Dye Burlap using tea bags– I had so much fun doing this project. After my Mom read this post, she informed me that she used tea bags to dye the lace on my sister’s wedding dress over 22 years ago!
#10 Homemade Madagascar Vanilla Extract {using Vodka}– This is my personal favorite of 2012. I love….. love…. love this vanilla extract, and will never go back to buying it. I have many batches ‘aging’, all in different stages, and cannot wait to try different vanilla beans. I did start a big batch of whiskey back in October, hoping that they would be ready to give as xmas gifts, but it is taking longer than vodka…..the scent of whiskey is overpowering the vanilla beans. =(
#9 Carrot and Zucchini Muffins– These are heavenly, so moist and sweet you won’t believe you are eating vegetables! I dare you to make a batch…
#8 What does it feel like to have cancer? – I cannot even believe this made it onto the list. I was so nervous putting this series out there, but if it can help even one person, it is worth it!
#7 Turning an old mirror into a chalkboard – This is still hanging up in my office! I plan on replacing the chalk with the new chalk ink pens that can be washed off with water and Windex. What a great way to recycle items that were just collecting dust in the attic or storage room, waiting around for the ‘what-if’!
#6 Subway Art– I am going to need to update this tutorial, as Picnik is not around anymore…… Picmonkey has been my go to site for everything these days. I just finished an adorable baby gift that I cannot wait to show you!
#5 Poppable, Tossable Cheesecake Dibs– I created these totally on a whim, thinking they would be awful! They are a winner, and perfect to have in the freezer for snacking!
#4 Chicken Cordon Blue Crescent Rolls – I cannot tell you how many times I make these for dinner. They are definitely in our rotation bi-weekly.
#3 Cake Pops– Who can resist a cake pop? No one, that’s who! Do not get sucked in by the gimmicks and gadgets on the market to make these beauties. Put in the extra time and mix the cake crumbs with frosting before rolling into a ball and dunking in chocolate. It is worth the extra time and effort to have all of the cake in 1 bite!
#2 Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes– The name says it all, and truly every bite tastes like a warm chocolate chip cookie.
And the winner is…….
#1 Homemade Tortilla Bowls {as seen on tv} – Seriously, who knew this one would be so popular. It is so simple and easy! I think my Mom took pity on me, thinking I was using the mason jars because I couldn’t afford the ones advertised on tv, that she bought them for me at Thanksgiving. I haven’t used it yet, but I do plan on putting the tortilla pan up against my mason jars in 2013! Stay tuned…….
Hey, as promised, let me show you the recipe that was ‘pinned’ the most on to Pinterest. Do you think you know what it is? If you are thinking chocolate topped with marshmallows, m&m’s, toffee and caramel…..you guessed right! Fun “Fetti” Brownies was the most ‘pinned’ recipe from Tempting Thyme.
Thanks for following me in 2012! Starting this blog has been a wild ride for me, with tons of learning curves and a few bumps and bruises along the way. I hope all of you had a wonderful 2012, and 2013 is full of health and blessings. I cannot wait to bring you new recipes and craft projects, with maybe a side of humor and angst!
See you next year {I love saying that},
