How to get free EpiPens

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We had a very enjoyable day, taking a short hike through Miami’s trails and finishing off the day with a few games of Clue.  With our lives and schedules overloaded, this was the ideal way to spend it!  With Thanksgiving behind us, the Christmas frenzy (spending) has already begun, and  I want to pass on a deal that will cost you nothing, it is absolutely FREE!

As some of you may know, K has allergies……some so severe that we need to make sure that we have EpiPens everywhere.  When he was smaller, I used to have them at school, purse, both cars and we would leave one whenever he was at a friend’s house.  The one time I forgot to leave one, we ended up rushing to the pediatrician for multiple injections.  No parent ever wants to see their child struggling to breathe!  We are now to the point that K is allowed to carry an EpiPen with him to school…….and he is driving, which means he is having to step up and take more responsibility for his health and safety!  This is me cringing as he is a typical teenage boy, and not very responsible!!

How can K’s health issues actually save you money?

Last week I received an email from K’s golf coach, telling me about this deal that Mylan Specialty was promoting.  She had no idea if it was true, or a scam, but wanted to pass on the information.  I am a skeptic at heart, but went to their site to check it out.  Here are the facts, and I can attest to the validity as I picked up the EpiPen 2 Pack a couple of days ago,and didn’t pay a dime!

If you have children with life threatening allergies, or know someone who does……please, please pass this on to them.  Even with insurance, EpiPens can be very expensive, especially when they are only good for a year.  When co-pays can exceed $100, it is not always as simple as paying for as many EpiPens as you need.

Here is what you need to do to get your free EpiPens:

  1.   Click here to fill out the form and print your $0 Co-Pay Offer Card from Mylan Specialty…..the makers of EpiPen.  If you don’t want to enter your information online, you can call 1-800-395-3376, and give your name and address.  Your Co-Pay card will be mailed to you.  If you go this route, hurry up as the offer ends soon.
  2.  .Make sure you have a valid prescription for your EpiPen.  I had to call his allergist, as we had just received a 2-pack at the beginning of the school year.  They called one in to the Kroger Pharmacy instantly, no questions asked.  They love it when their patients can save a little bit of dough!
  3. When you go to pick up your prescription, hand over the $0 Co-Pay Offer card along with your insurance information.  This worked for me……I was able to walk out without paying a cent.  This was amazing, as I was still doubtful that it was going to work.  I was truly nervous when I handed the technician the $0 Co-Pay Card, expecting to be told that I was having to pay my normal $65 co-pay.  Once again….I didn’t have to pay anything…it was FREE!

Let me give you a tip:  Before you leave the pharmacy, make sure your prescription is good for 12 months.  I have been screwed a few times when I was in a hurry and didn’t look at each of the EpiPens in the twin pack.  Take the time to look, as I couldn’t do anything about it once I got them home.  Learn from my past mistakes!

Co-Pay Terms and Conditions

Mylan Specialty is offering this promotion to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of EpiPen, and the offer is only good through the end of 2013…..so you need to hurry up and take advantage of their generosity.  I know that I will keep checking back to see if they are going to continue the program into 2014.  If I learn anything I will pass on the information.

**I have no connection to EpiPen or Mylan Specialty!  When I see a deal that cannot be passed up, I want to share it will all of you.  Please share this with anyone you know that has life threatening allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) caused by allergens, exercise or any unknown triggers!

Scattered…

I feel so scattered lately!  Please forgive me for being away so much lately!

The longer I am pulled away from this blog, the harder I am finding it to sit down and write something meaningful.  I don’t know why, but nothing feels right lately.  There is so much on my mind and so much to say, but I just draw a blank when I sit down to type.  I have numerous draft posts started and somehow can’t finish them…..basically scrapping them all!  It’s not like I haven’t been doing anything!  I have many recipes and projects to share, just can’t get my act together.

So much has happened this past quarter (I am a bean counter and everything is done in quarters!!), yet nothing has happened at all.  My oldest has graduated from high school and is about ready to leave for college!  We added a new addition to our household at the start of the summer!  We have gone on a short vacation with an amazing family!  I have started and finished a number of household projects!  Others I have started… waiting to be finished.  Yet when I sit down in front of the computer, I draw a blank on putting my thoughts and emotions onto ‘paper’.

All of this self-indulging talk today is for me to admit….it’s not you, it’s me!   I know…..I know…..it sounds like a line from relationship breaking up!   I swear it is not! I have received some amazing emails from all of you, either asking for help on a certain project, or just asking when I will be posting anything new!  Keep them coming….I love emails, answering your questions, and helping you out!  I promise this long distance relationship has been a drag for me, and I can’t wait to get my act together and get back at it. I miss all of you!!   Until then, I am doing my best each day and trying to forget about the word balance because sometimes it just doesn’t exist.  You totally agree with me, don’t ya??

I will talk to you all soon, but in the meantime….take care, and if you have any questions or comments, give me a shout out or email me.  It might take a couple of days, but I do answer EVERYTHING!

“The Key to Life isn’t looking for a safe sameness with every passing season.  It is learning to enjoy the ride, whatever the next turn in the road might bring.  Believing that God is driving and He will get us home safely~~however bumpy the trip may be.”   -Karen Kingsbury
