Can you believe that Christmas is only six days away? Are you ready?
I am so happy I only decorated our family room and dining room this year!
So much easier, especially when all the men in my life disappear as soon as I start hauling out the Christmas boxes. Seriously, in a flash they are gone…… POOF…… only to reappear as soon as all the lights are twinkling and boxes stored safely away again! LOL! Does this happen to any of you as well? Who in your family decorates for Christmas?
I love our dining room! If only we used it more! {Sigh} I just confessed my deep shame……I can count on 1 hand how many times we have eaten in this room since we moved in……. 12 1/2 years ago!
This is a wreath I whipped up by literally wiring two wreaths together and making a bow out of some cream ribbon, as well as gold. I attached it to a mirror that is leaning up against one wall. It appears to be floating as I secured it with florist wire onto the back of the mirror.
Here is another shot of that mirror. One of these days I might actually hang it on the wall horizontally, but for now I prefer it leaning up against the wall. It is also hiding my parent’s old mirror behind it. See it? Look to the left and you will see some gold peeking thru. This was given to me to refurbish, and I just haven’t had the time (or space) to set up shop. It was the mirror that was at the bottom of the stairs growing up, and I want to do it justice.
Isn’t he the sweetest Santa you have ever seen? You can’t see his bag very well, but it is resting on the back of the chair. I rescued him out of my parent’s storage room. I found him stashed in a trash bag, under a table of wrapping paper and clothing. It is safe to say, I kidnapped him the very next day. I had to, right? He complements the chair perfectly! Aha…..I can always say “the chair made me do it”……..perfect defense strategy!
The chandelier is my new favorite thing to decorate! It was so easy to place in some pine sprays, sugared pomegranates & berries, finishing it off with a few gold dusted curly fillers.
Here is a side shot of the credenza!
I have 2 Christmas arrangements on either side of the credenza. My Mom and I saw these a few years back, and I promptly fell in love and had to make a few of my own. Still love them!!!!
Here is a final shot of the credenza. P gave me that painting many years ago, when we didn’t have two nickels to rub together. It is still one of my favorites. It screams romance, solitude and possibility! The only items added for Christmas were the 2 floral arrangements and the Santa. The covered bowl and photograph are there year round.
Thanks for visiting Christmas Decorating {In the Dining Room}! Many blessings to you and your family this Holiday Season!
