The title says it all doesn’t it? You truly cannot go wrong when combining Oreo’s, Peanut Butter and Fudge, and these Oreo Peanut Butter Brownie Cakes will not disappoint! I promise! For those wishing for a Healthy Inspiration Tuesday Recipe, it will be back next week, just couldn’t wait to give you all this recipe.
If you have any doubts, I had 5 grown men watching Monday Night Football last night …. who devoured them …. with a snap of the fingers they were gone……and they were looking for more! They could give a shout out and tell you all to “MAKE THEM RIGHT NOW”! A huge bonus……they are super easy to put together.
So how did these beauties come about? Remember those gentlemen in my basement? It is Monday Night Football, and it is PT’s time to host the Dana Drive motley crew. Now normally this is a time for these guys to indulge in their guiltiest food pleasure’s and wives are given the strict rules not to cook. We are talking Pizza, Wings, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Doritos, Chips and I could go on and on and on! You get the drift, eh?
Do I get to be one of those wives who isn’t allowed to cook? NO! I don’t know how it started………. yes I do, I was feeling sorry for PT 10 odd years ago, he didn’t have time to arrange whatever take out he was thinking of, so off-handed I just said let me make chili. Ten + years, and I have never been able to live that night down. I get teased by the “Commissioner”, the contraband is mentioned in the yearly MNF organizational email, AND to top it off…………I have to make chili every year now. =) I think they would hunt me down if I decided to go on strike. I guess I should see the bright side and feel good that they look forward to my chili. If you are in need of an awesome chili recipe, go here.
Wow, I really got distracted, but you all had to have some background……… right? In addition to the chili, I wanted to give them something chocolatey and sweet. Oh crap!!! Who am I trying to fool! I was dying to make a dessert, and this was just as good an excuse as any. Shhh…don’t tell them! Bonus for me….I got to sample them, with no worries about leftovers tempting me. WOW, I am delusional……..I didn’t just take a bite……I ate an entire one all by myself, and would have eaten more if I didn’t have B and K over my shoulder! Hmmmm, feels good to tell the truth!
I needed something quick and easy, and had to have all the ingredients already at the house as I didn’t have any time to run to the grocery store. I ran across this recipe over at Picky Palate and knew I had a winner. But, I wanted to stretch it a little further by adding in hot fudge sauce. I originally wanted to use caramel, but didn’t have any on hand, so quickly got over myself and adapted. I already know that this recipe will become a staple in our household. This recipe is like my Buckeye Cupcakes….but on steroids. Missed that recipe? You can still see it here.
See how easy it is? All you are doing is making an oreo sandwich with peanut butter and laying it in a paper lined cupcake pan. Anyone can do that!
Adding to the outrageous flavors is a dollop of hot fudge sauce (straight out of the jar….did not warm it up)!
Add about 2 Tbsp of brownie batter , letting it flow over the oreo stack….add a little more if you need to.
For all of you worried about K, feeling sorry for him not being able to eat them due to his peanut allergies, never fear! For a couple of these beauties, I substituted 100% hot fudge sauce for the peanut butter. I swear to the Lord…these were like molten lava cakes. So very good…….and for these I did just take a small bite. =)
Oreo Peanut Butter Brownie Cakes
Ingredients: {Printable Recipe}
- 1 box brownie mix
- 24 Double Stuff Oreo Cookies
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- ¼ cup Hot Fudge Sauce (I used the Kroger brand)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 12 cup muffin pan with cupcake liners.
- In medium bowl, prepare brownie mix according to directions. Place about 1 tsp of brownie batter into the bottom of each ‘cup’. For each cupcake, spread peanut butter on top of a double stuff and top with the other oreo. Spread more peanut butter on top and finish it off with a small spoonful of hot fudge. Place each oreo tower into the muffin cups.
- Spoon about 2 Tbsp of brownie batter over each oreo tower and let it run down the sides into the cupcake liner. Fill in any missed gaps if needed.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until soft set. Cool completely on a wire rack.
Have a fabulous Tuesday everyone!
