Every year brings a clean slate~full of opportunities and ambition! I thought it would be a great idea to make my goals official and list them all out. If they are in writing for the entire world to see, it means they are going to get done, right? I love how you all seem to keep me accountable! Can’t wait to ‘check’ all of these items off the list. Obviously, for the books I will be listing them all out. Please don’t judge on all the chick lits I will be reading. =)

Decrapify the entire house:
{Complete this via the 52 week Organization Project}
Week 1: Kitchen Countertops
Week 2: Kitchen Drawers and Cabinets
Week 3: Pantry, Spice Cabinet
Week 4: Refrigerator and Freezer
Finish the boy’s bathroom:
– Flooring, large tile or hardwood.
– Make a frame to surround mirror. DONE! Read about it HERE!
– Add molding to sink cabinet.
– Light in shower (get B to complete this over the summer).
– Fix toilet problem by changing the door to a barn style OR buy a new toilet.
– Decorate.
Entry Way:
– New lights for the 2 story entry (read about it HERE) and 2nd floor ceiling. (read about the new foyer light HERE)
– Hardwood flooring on stairs and 2nd floor landing. Boys’ room and bathroom to be determined by finances.
– Build a Newel Post and refinish existing banister/baluster on staircase and landing.
– Paint entryway and 2nd floor landing. Will need to hire this out! Should we do this before completing the hardwood stairs? This was completed 9/2!!! Yes, I did hire out, and they did an awesome job!
– Paint the front door black- this was not on the original list, but what the heck! Read about it HERE!
Kitchen:
– Price out the addition of an apron sink and new faucet.
– Feasibility of swapping the refrigerator with an existing set of cabinets (allowing double the counter space). If it will work, then box in refrigerator allowing for a more custom look.
– Price out new counter tops and addition of raised counter top to the sink area.
– Beef up existing cabinets with molding.
– Paint kitchen cabinets.
Family Room:
– Build cabinets around fireplace.
– Change out the existing ceiling fan for one that does not have a light kit and darker in tone.
Misc:
– Board and Batten OR Raised Paneling Wainscoting in Dining Room, Mudroom Hallway and second floor landing?
– Tree Stump side table.
– Building new kitchen island. here.
I read an article that only 8% of Americans set goals and only 3% write them down. Crazy isn’t it. I like how you made your goals so specific. I think I’m going to do the same.

It is the only way to keep myself accountable. =) Also helps that I can look at something as a reminder versus 1000+ ideas swirling through my head. Oh wait….that still happens, LOL!

I hear ya! Been doing the same at my house. It does take a long time to get everything done. I try not to make my daily lists too unrealistic. Yesterday I did the kitchen but NOT the pantry/mudroom…that’s next week. Good luck and looking forward to seeing all your completed projects!
