All About Me……..
Wow, how do I even start this?
Welcome to Tempting Thyme, my name is Shaunna and I will be your hostess on this crazy journey into blogland! LOL! That is like me telling B that when he struggles in writing papers (or in the latest case, a college essay) he should just start them off with 1 2 3 4 5 6 I can’t believe I am doing this! From there the words would just start to flow………
I am obsessed with anything DIY, love working with my hands, and am the biggest penny pincher you will find here in my little slice of heaven….Oxford, Ohio. Don’t get me wrong, I will use quality product, but if there is any humanly possible way for me to save $$ on the labor, I am all over it! I love to learn new skills, and I don’t think anything is off limits (well maybe snake handler, don’t think I could handle that)!
I have been married to my college sweetheart for 21 years, and we have been blessed with 2 amazing boys. I graduated from Purdue University (Boiler Up baby) with a degree in Restaurant Hotel Management. After work assignments in Boston, New York City and Cincinnati and realizing my entire paycheck would go towards daycare, I settled into the groove of being a stay at home Mom. I don’t think I handled it well, just being honest. I do know that this is when my love affair with DIY started! I needed an outlet from little kids…..not just my 2, but the other 4 I agreed to care for as well. That’s right, I became the ‘daycare’ for neighborhood kids. If you had told me I would be babysitting for 10 years of my life, I probably would have peed myself laughing so hard. Looking back, I wouldn’t have changed any aspect of this! I may have entered the work force 6 years ago, but my love affair with DIY has not diminished! I have been creating chaos in my household for over 15 years, and I do not see an end in sight……poor PT!
You are going to see a lot….and I mean A LOT of recipes on this sight. I find great comfort in the kitchen, it relaxes me, and I love feeding people. Even though baking reigns supreme, you will also find tons of craft and home remodeling projects at Tempting Thyme. Although I have 2 feet planted in the work force (grass is not always greener on the other side), my head still swims with project ideas day in and day out!
I am constantly trying to juggle a drill, paint brush and a whisk……..welcome to my little world…….I hope I am able to inspire you in some tempting way!!
** If you want to know where I came up with the title…..you can read about it here.
Hey Shaunna,
I recently came across your site http://temptingthyme.com/ and I’m wondering if I can post one of my articles here.
I’ve been writing up home improvement articles too and would love the chance to write
on your blog but I couldn’t manage to find your email. If you could get a hold of me at
ikatie.jones@outlook.com, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Katie
